I'm going to put 600 lbs. of sandbags in the back of my truck, and load up the snow tires for their annual mount / balance.

Update on rain.
After a hot humid day today, we experienced a Thunder Storm this evening.
14 mm of rain in an hour, and three flashes of Lightening, that I saw, and four small claps of Thunder, with one really nice one virtually directly overhead.
All gone now.
November was the Driest and warmest on record, and now December looks like being a wet one, for the next couple of days at least.

Most likely bad gas but that's Fin's area of expertise not mine.
You can't let them sit all year, I drag my Home-lite 8hp Briggs 4400 watt generator outside every summer and fire it up easily. Let it sit once for a year and tough to start. Should use some Stabil gas stabilizer or keep the gas tank low or empty and fill when needed, best to drain the carb too. Gas will harden like a varnish if left sitting in the carb. Shut off the gas valve from the tank and stall out the engine to drain the carb.
Porter
I think I'll take your advice and do that at the end of the season this year.

I live here because I am too poor to move anywhere else, and Bronwyn is here.
Plus, the last time I moved, it took 18 loads to move the Workshop and Garage stuff, and 3 loads for the House stuff.

I don't want to hear anymore cry babies whining about the winter climate - deal with it.
If you can't handle it put your house up for sale and move down south, sweat your butt of in the hot summer down there and have plenty of towels handy for wiping the humidity off your brow.

Besides, we appreciate the good weather a whole lot more when it gets here.

I don't know what happened, it dropped into the fifties today. Thank goodness it will be back in the seventies Saturday. Snow? Loving snow is not a sign of strength or valor. It's a sign of depression and a self abusive personality. It has it's uses in sports, but that's it.
I need to finish vacuuming the leaves tomorrow. All these fabulous trees that keep my house in the shade are DECIDUOUS. The oaks and magnolias crowd out the loblolly pines.

Rhino,
Come visit Maine sometime, you will love it up here. Snow - D-G ? Just a mere inconvenience far out weighed by the fresh air, clean water and civilized living.
One of the last unspoiled regions on the east coast, got moose too and plenty of lobstah.
Winter gives me a chance to kick back and relax, get some indoor projects done.
Look forward to spring right around the corner. We have great summers up here. Can smell the pine trees in the air too. Life is great in Maine and I wouldn't live anywhere else, your mileage may vary.
Then again I could live anywhere in this country, heat or humidity doesn't bother me, I enjoy that too.

Snow for me is more than a mere inconvenience. It's a real PIA. It just makes my life miserable.
Maybe if I didn't turn wrenches for a living it wouldn't be as bad. But then there is the bad driving, the slippery ice, the cold and damp and the aching bones. Oh, and being shut in like a ground hog for 5 months as well. And it gets dark at 4:30 PM and there is no usable light until 7:30 AM.
The skiiers and the snowmobilers love it, but they can go to the bloody North Pole as far as I'm concerned. They just wish bad weather on the rest of us so they can go and play their expensive sports.
