But they did have a 100amp as a option and it a direct bolt on. A big unit but it works.
I know of the 130A unit for the ambulance that even has AC terminals.
Not aware of a 100A unit though.

Yeah, The 100amp units were huge. Like Ted said, "direct bolt on." They were the same dimensions as far as depth goes, but the circumference was huge.
When you stopped at a light with all the options going, nothing even dimmed, or slowed down. These were some strong Delco units.
As for the 130A job...I've never even worked on a hearse or ambulance, so I have no clue.

I've got one or two put away - removed from the cars; I'll get a pic or two and some specs.

I'm not quite so sure this is what STDog was referring to. I believe he's talking about an alternator.
But that is an awesome piece. It's got to weigh 50lbs. Is it capable of A/C output.
Now, the trash can is an imitation Cadillac trash can. Or it's modified. The crest is all wrong. Like ours !!!

1. That unit was standard heavy duty for use on late 50s early 60s ambulances - sufficient to operate lights & sirens which require a lot of power.
2. The garbage can is 60s era I think; maybe older, maybe newer (70s?) produced by Cadillac Diamond Brand Company.

That's it. The three terminals at the rear (bottom left of the first picture) are the AC terminals.
The pictures in the '70 FSM shows the BAT terminal on the side too, about where that slot is.

Where the best place to get a NEW 110 amp alternator, no chrome.
Any satisfied customers out there. I know there a million places to look for one but would appreciate good advice.
Thanks,
Clink
Ok guys thanks for the help................I bought Black Betty some new juice for $89.00. Got this 100 AMP from Wheels-of-Time.com, located in STDogs back yard Philadelphis, MS. Check out the web site and talk to Gary. Tell him I sent you.
