Anyone live near Jupiter, Florida?
«

G'day all,
Anyone live near Jupiter in Florida that might be able to assist me in picking up a part if needed?
I am about to bid on ebay, and the seller says that it is only a Pick-up.
Once I win the part, I will then need to have it sent onwards to NY via UPS.
Thanks,
Bruce.

Notice that Brucie doesn't say what the part is. Better have an engine lift ready.

Exactly why I left it out.
But, it isn't an engine, and Geoff has kindly offered his services.

Thanks CF.
Got the Timing Set in the mail today.
Will be looking at the Bearings and Rings tomorrow to see if I need replacements.

V6 Buick Nailhead in my 1972 Chris Craft Gull Wing.
I know it isn't a Cadillac, but as far as I am concerned, Chris Craft is the "Cadillac" of power boats, and it will be towed behind my '72 Eldorado when completed.

Get a few head gasket sets too. These things love head gaskets for some reason. Even after decking the block, milling the heads and shaving the intake to compensate for the angle change, it ate head gaskets before and after the rebuild.
Put a new set on every 50 hours or so. That little 6 banger had all the guts in the world. It pushed a 26' John Almand cuddy cabin real nice. It would run all day at 4500rpm. Maxed at 5100 with the cup we had in the prop. With a speed prop it would have done better, but we needed to get a good hole shot out of it and get it up on a plane.

On stripping it down, it appears as though the engine is an original, untouched unit, and everything appears to be very nice inside.
Even the Nylon Toothed Camshaft Gear was there, and only one tooth had lost its' tip, and that was in the sump, right under the Oil Pump Pickup. Any longer use, and I am sure that the whole lot would have ended up in the sump.
An Intake Valve was so badly tuliped that I thought one of the Exhaust Valves was stuck down before I pulled the heads.
Now to mike everything up and get some parts under way.
By hull is only a 16 footer, so she should get up and go. If not, I have a 500 Caddy sitting here, and a full-race 454 BBC
