Many of you will have noticed that the pictures you have posted, using external Links, have just disappeared, and only the link still showing.
It isn't that we don't want to see your pictures, far from it, but in a lot of cases, the pictures that are being shown via Links, are overwhelming the screens of some of us, and those of us with either Dial-up, or very slow Internet Connections, this takes a lot of time to download, every time the page is accessed. Further, when Members hit the "Quote" button to reply to a message, if they don 't remove the link, then the pictures automatically open up in the replied posting, and thus more time is taken up.
In order for pictures to be shown in messages and the like, it is imperative that the MCLC's own Site be used to download the images via the Additional Options at the bottom of the message screen. If done this way, when the messages appear, the small version of the picture is shown, with the link underneath to enable those wanting to view the image in a larger format to simply click on that link.
Each message can hold 4 Images, and up to a total of 750KB in size, and there is no limit on the number of times that one can post a message, so if you want to post 6 images, then you can put 3 in one message, then 3 in the next, or 4 and 2, or whatever, as long as the pictures fit within the 750KB limit.
The same goes for the images that some place as part of their signature.
Some of you might wish to review your previous postings and add the images in the correct manner, as we still want to see what is there.
For those that have Images larger than 750KB in one image, then they cannot be downloaded, unless they are reduced in size. If you experience problems doing this, please contact the Administrators and we will gladly assist you in learning how to accomplish this.
