I just bought a set of these for my 53. They are supposed to be brighter and meet all current standards.

Question for you guys using aircraft landing lights:  Do they have a bright/dim functionality?
No, they are only for High Beams on Dual Headlamp fitted vehicles.

No need for dipping lights on a plane. Wink

No they do not, and I would question their legality in the U.S.  www.aircraftspruce.com is the place to buy them ---- if you must.

Bonneville has had a set of landing lights for almost 30 years.
No one has ever bothered me about them but they are also used very sparingly; primarily coming home late at night.
Of course, I live on a rural country road.

I saw some on that website that had the fluted surface so they would match the original bulbs pretty well.
But they are 250w rating and 28v.  How would you wire that up without melting your headlight switch?
Do you use a relay? Do you wire up a separate switch like a set of fog lamps?  Huh
As you can tell........wiring ain't my strong suit.   Grin

Got to run the 13 Volt ones.

Bit hard running 28 Volt ones in a normal car.

What's the max wattage at 13v???  I was kinda excited at the thought of the 250 Watt bulbs!   Grin

The ones I use are 100 Watts at 13 Volts, but seeing as the cars have 12 Volt systems, and I take the main power feed from the battery, via a relay, and the headlights are on when the engine is running, and the Charging System is pumping something like 13 or 14 volts into the battery, what goes to the lights will be more than 12 volts.
