hello all. I am in the Chicago area - about 60 miles due west of the city (out in the corn fields). I have a 27 ford roadster with a 47 caddy flathead (edmunds intake with dual holly 94's). Motor runs good - burns a little oil and leaks a little oil. I have an exhaust leak at the header that is driving me crazy. I have the intake/exhaust gasket set - just need to take the time this winter to install them. I also plan to send the headers (both driver/passenger sides, as well as the cross-over pipe) out to be ceramic coated - to cut down on heat. A few questions:

1. Anyone in the area work on/rebuild caddy flatheads?
2. Anything to look out for when changing the intake/exhaust gaskets?
3. Any suggestions on where to send the headers for coating?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sorry, Can't help you from up here in B.C. Canada, but I like what you're doing. I have a '41 and I have to totally rebuild it this winter, to stand up to the super-charger.I got parts from Eggy, and all I can do, is take the block to a local machine shop. I have a question about your exhaust leak, have you tried snugging all the bolts, finger tight before tightening the cross-over?
