Looks pretty good other than the wheels and sitting on the ground.

Raise it up to a reasonable height and get wheels that allow for some rubber on them and it'd be great.

Thomas,
I'm surprised at  you.  Why on earth would you want a car that actually could be driven? ha ha ha ha ha ha

One would hope its go air suspension so it can actually be driven.

Why go through all that custom work and just slap in a stupid 454?   If you are going to be that boring why not just go big and get a crate 502 or 572?

Why not get a REAL engine and put a MTS "built" 500+ in it?!

I can never figure out why some guys think lower is more beautiful. Cadillac had it perfect. And how can wheels possibly look better when they look like they've go not tires on? Long live whitewalls. This is like rap music on a 50's juke box.

Tragically misdirected, but superb craftsmanship.

I guess you missed it, but I think the car was liked in general.

At the same time we'll point out the stuff we don't like too.

(opinions and belly buttons)

I'd love to see a 512 Cadillac engine and some 2.5-3" whitewalls on it.
Hub caps that go with the rest of the car too instead of those modern looking wheels.

I think the wheels distract from the car. They are OK, by themselves, just wrong for that car.

Yes, I understand what you mean. But, despite general opinion, and modifications being what they are, I'm biased when it comes to this model of Cadillac. It's my favourit shape of all time. And I think the best picture of this one is where it's stood in the shop waiting for restoration. Something classical and real about that shot. But as for the rest of the pictures well, like you say, opinions and belly buttons.

Killer car and I love the BIG wheels.  Hopefully the owner takes it to a car show in SoCal so I can see it in person.

I guess my point is that I would expect the comments about the big wheels and lower stance on the MoBo but since we're on the MODIFIED CADILLAC forum I kinda thought we all LIKED our Cadillacs ...........um........modified!  If it was stock height and had wide whitewalls and stock type hubcaps then it wouldn't be very modified would it??  I'm just sayin........... hi

That's absolutely right. This is, as we all know, a 'Modified Cadillac Forum' and I'd be the first to admit as would any of its members I'm sure that to criticize any modified Cadillac would be a hypocrisy. But, here's the thing guys, and this is the foundation for my comments at least, and I feel in the light of recent postings that I'd like to clarify them. That is not a modified Cadillac. That's a customizied Cadillac.

The defintion of 'modify' is 'To make minor alterations or to change something slightly. The definition of 'customize' is 'To alter in order to fit personal requirements better.' In other words to personalize, to custom build. This Cadillac, as per the art form that customizing cars is quite rightly portrayed to be sometimes, has been so extremely "modified", with a beautiful but unrecognisable engine bay, removal of badges and side strips and handles and many more dramatic conversions and extensive changes that it is debatable whether it is technically a 1960 Cadillac at all any more but merely based on one. A custom car. A brilliant one I agree - but definately not a 'modified' classic car.

Hats off to those guys for capitalizing on the magnificence of reputably one of the most beautiful cars in the world. But I still wish I'd been there to buy it of em before they did it!

"... This is, as we all know, a 'Modified Cadillac Forum' ..."

the word "modified" in this title is used as an adjective. woldnet dictionary definition does not limit the word "modify" as you do,
"The defintion of 'modify' is 'To make minor alterations or to change something slightly." with the word "slightly"
you are using "modify" as a verb, not an adjective, in that sentance.

WordNet Dictionary
Adj. 1. modified - changed in form or character; "their modified stand made the issue more acceptable"; "the performance of the modified aircraft was much improved"
Antonyms:
unmodified - not changed in form or character
 2. modified - mediocre
Synonyms: limited

as the thread title "seriously modified!" says, this ride IS seriously modified ...

ciao,
