Hey guy's. So Im selling my 22'' Dayton's that are currently on my car and getting stock wheel/caps. I can't afford white wall tires so I was wondering if anyone here has used any of the white wall tire paints that are out there. And if so , how well does it work?

Im sick of looking like Im slinging drug's out of my trunk, and I want to kinda give it the stock look back .

Thx.
Jeff.

A friend of mine puts White Walls on tyres all the time, and also Red.

He has the correct machine to do it, but sending your tyres down here would be a tad expensive.

But, to cut a long story short, yes, there are Whitewallers out there that groove the wall of the tyre, and then apply the correct paint to the area.

In fact, I have two cans of the paint here for sale, but getting them to you, or anyone overseas would take forever, as they have to travel by Surface.

whoo-hoo The change you have planned is a good one...one man's opinion Roll Eyes
Take a look at LucasClassicTires.com they sell Portawalls which look a lot better than the WW paint and not nearly as expensive as new tires. Hope this helps.

Bought some of that paint years ago from a guy in Iceland (is he on here?) and even had a friend laser cut a perfect circle into some steel plate in the desired diameter (for 3" whites). Figured I'd just lay the plate on the tire, slather the paint on and VOILA!, a perfect whitewall! I think? Never tried it, still sitting on the shelf. Didn't seem to be too many people making the paint back then so sounds like there are some more options now? Curious as well if anyone else on here has done it, pics? Guess I'll do some searching.

Tried Portawalls. Looked slick at first, drove about 1/2 a mile and the rear ones caught on the fender-skirt-release and tore off Sad

BTW, I like your ride, exactly the way my 70 looks (even 4 door)... gangsta! LOL, but I'm no purist (shake head in disgust now), I'm ghetto.

Dude, I would think that after you sold the DUB's you'd have enough to buy you a set of WWW tires.  Or at least a good down payment on some anyway!  rock on  Mine are Coker's gangster wide whites.  I'm taking them off mine I think.  I'm going a different direction.  Maybe triple white walls next time.  If you were close to Chattanooga, TN. maybe we could make a deal.   hi

Yup. Nice OG look. I have also seen people grind back the thin whites revealing fat whites. Not sure how clean the result is, I have never seen any done like this up close.

My mate grinds the walls all the time, and even the white-letter tyres reveal the white rubber under the black.

You have to use the correct instrument to grind the walls.

The car has a lot more style and class with the whitewall tires, and the right wheels.

Go to youtube and put --- Make your own Wide White Walls --- in the Search box.  You will find many videos about grinding your own such as this one   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkcm3rh60p0
